At the National Defence School ‘Vojvoda Radomir Putnik’ in Belgrade, on 2 February 2026, a ceremony was held to mark the beginning of the education of the participants of the 15th class of the High Studies of Security and Defence.

On that occasion, the Rector of the University of Defence, Brigadier General Boban Đorović, addressed those present, stating that the University of Defence strives to keep pace with the best military higher education institutions in the world and is developing a range of activities aimed at improving the quality of study programmes, managing scientific research activities, and intensifying international military cooperation.

Addressing those present, the Head of the National Defence School, Colonel Zoran Jekić, emphasized that over the past fourteen years approximately 220 participants have completed the High Studies of Security and Defence, and that the programme has become recognizable not only within the security and defence system of the Republic of Serbia, but also in the region and worldwide.

The main objective of the programme is to develop strategic leaders capable of making the most difficult decisions and managing the national security and defence system in order to protect the vital interests and values of the states from which they come.

Among the participants of the new class are representatives of the highest institutions and public enterprises of the Republic of Serbia, as well as representatives of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Namibia.
