H.E. the Ambassador of the United States of America, Mr. Anthony Godfrey and the Director of “Dipos” d.o.o., Mr. Djoko Krivokapic, today in a symbolic way, marked more than 60 years of cooperation between the US Embassy in the Republic of Serbia and Property management and rental company “Dipos” d.o.o. Belgrade, by planting a tree of friendship in the Diplomatic Colony in Dedinje.

This visit, which was initiated by the Director of the Company, Mr. Djoko Krivokapic, is also the first visit of the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Serbia to this Company, since the day of its founding.

On this occasion, H.E. Ambassador Anthony Godfrey said:

“The Embassy of the United States nurtures good relations and fruitful cooperation with many different branches of the Government of Serbia – and Dipos is no exception. We rented the first residence from Dipos back in 1960. Over the years, our cooperation has grown so that we now rent a quarter of all embassy residences from Dipos. Neighborly relations that have formed around these Dipos houses have helped our diplomats working in Serbia to gain a wonderful sense of belonging to the community. It is well known in the State Department that one of the best diplomatic settlements in the world is exactly this in Belgrade. We can thank that for many years of cooperation with Dipos and its understanding of the specific needs of our diplomatic staff serving abroad who live and work in Serbia. I am proud of our 60 years of shared history with Dipos and look forward to continuing our relationship for many more years to come.

This tree that we will plant today – is a symbol of my sincere desire to strengthen our partnership with Dipos and the Government of Serbia. For many years to come, this tree will benefit people. It will contribute to the beauty of Belgrade, the quality of the air we breathe and the health of our climate, which knows no borders – similar to the United States’ relations with Serbia. ”

Djoko Krivokapic, Director of Dipos, thanked Ambassador Godfrey for these words and added:

“For Dipos, this is a special day, as it was in 1952, when the first relations were established between the esteemed Embassy of the United States of America in Belgrade and this Company. I deeply believe that today’s solemn act will grow into a long and uninterrupted tradition and that future generations will continue to mark important moments of our business and friendly relations in this way.

During more than six decades of our cooperation, Dipos has strived to nurture true values and to be a good host to all employees of the United States Embassy in Belgrade. That is why it is of great importance for us if we have managed to provide your colleagues with a feeling of home, far from home, during all these years, while staying in our facilities.

We are very proud that the Embassy of the United States of America has been trusting Dipos for more than 60 years. The business and friendly relations that we have nurtured for many years are based on mutual understanding, mutual trust and respect, as well as a joint commitment to further improve them, as evidenced by today’s act.

This tree will not only further decorate and enrich the Diplomatic Colony, but will also breathe new life into it and continue to grow and develop in the same way that our friendship grew and developed. ”

Property managment and rental company “Dipos” d.o.o. Belgrade will continue to nurture the established practice of marking the jubilee of business relations with diplomatic and consular missions in the Republic of Serbia, by planting trees in the park of the Diplomatic Colony in Dedinje.
