Easter is the largest and most joyful Christian holiday. It symbolizes the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead and victory over death. Many beautiful customs in the Christian world are also attached to Easter. One of the most joyful and beautiful Serbian customs is the painting and gifting of eggs on Good Friday as a symbol of the restoration of nature and life, colored in red, the color of Christianity and Resurrection, the innocent suffering of the Lord, symbolizing the Savior’s innocently spilled blood on Calvary. When the day of the Resurrection of the Lord dawns, from all the towers of the Orthodox temples, all the bells ring and announce the arrival of the great feast.
